Ownership and Independence

College Prodigy is a subsidiary of the University Affiliates Group (“UAG”). UAG invests in higher education websites and has ownership stakes in a number of companies affiliated with higher education startups, listed here.

Since being founded by UAG in 2018, College Prodigy has operated independently from the parent company. We work in separate offices and maintain strict policies on editorial independence and transparency, described below.

No members of UAG have oversight or influence on editorial operations. Further, College Prodigy staff members do not possess non-public knowledge of UAG’s ownership positions and we do not provide advice or advance information to UAG regarding our editorial content.

Journalistic principles

We strive for utmost fairness, accuracy, objectivity and responsible reporting, whether reporting original news or in reviewing and corroborating information from other sources.

The editorial team will cover news with impartiality and integrity, without influence of UAG or any affiliated colleges or universities.

All editorial team members and freelance writers for College Prodigy are required to disclose any relationship with a specific college or university or affiliated company to prevent from any conflict of interest, or bias.

College Prodigy does not accept payment in return for publishing rankings, reviews, features or editorials.

These guidelines are periodically reviewed and updated.

Revenue Model

College Prodigy earns money through affiliate revenue, research and events.
